Study Circles engage in Fish Farming

Several study circles have ventured into fish farming, raising tilapia.

A pond is dug by the group

Then it is lined with black plastic sheeting to prevent leakage of water. 


The group must have a borehole from which to pump water to fill the pond.

Fingerlings introduced in the spring grow through the summer, and are ready to be harvested before the winter

There is exciement when the fish are harvested. They are not large, but they provide protein meals for the members of the study circle as well as many for sale to neighbours.
